About the Event
AI for Social Good Hackathon – SUST 2026 is organized by RoboSUST Club at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Students from all departments collaborate in teams to build AI-powered solutions that address real social challenges — in education, healthcare, inclusion, environment, and campus life.
Theme
Build AI solutions for social good using free, accessible tools powered by Z.ai.
Teams
Form teams of 2–4 students from any SUST department. Solo participation allowed with approval.
Format
One full day of building: opening, onboarding, build sprints, demos, and awards.
Build Tracks
Choose any track that inspires you. All tracks welcome beginners.
Education
Learning tools, student support systems, access to knowledge, tutoring bots.
Healthcare
Health awareness, patient support, first-aid guidance, mental health tools.
Inclusion & Accessibility
Tools for differently-abled users, language barriers, underserved communities.
Environment
Sustainability awareness, climate tools, energy efficiency, conservation apps.
Campus Life
SUST-specific solutions — campus services, student productivity, community tools.
Eligibility
CSE, SWE, EEE, Civil, Business, and all other departments. Every student at SUST is eligible.
Complete beginners are welcome. Starter kits and onboarding sessions are provided.
First-year students, seniors, and postgraduate students can all participate.
Participation is completely free. No registration fee required.
Judging Criteria
Projects are evaluated across five dimensions by an expert panel.
Social Impact & Relevance
25%How meaningfully does the project address a real social challenge? Is the target audience clearly defined?
Z.ai Integration Quality
25%Depth and creativity of Z.ai tool or API integration within the solution.
Technical Execution
20%Code quality, architecture, and whether the project actually works as demonstrated.
User Experience & Clarity
15%Ease of use, interface design, and how clearly the solution communicates its value.
Demo & Communication
15%Quality of the demo, clarity of the presentation, and ability to answer judges' questions.

FAQ
Who can participate?
All currently enrolled students at SUST — from any department and any academic year. CSE, SWE, EEE, Civil, Business, and all others are welcome.
Do I need prior AI experience?
No. This event is beginner-friendly. Starter kits, onboarding, and a Z.ai introduction session are provided. Just bring your laptop and curiosity.
Is there a registration fee?
No. Participation is completely free.
Can I participate alone?
Solo participation is possible with organizer approval. Teams of 2–4 members are preferred for a better experience.
Is Z.ai usage mandatory?
Yes. Every project must meaningfully integrate Z.ai tools or APIs. Starter kits are provided to help you get started quickly.
What should I build?
Any AI-powered project in the social good tracks: education, healthcare, inclusion, environment, or campus life. Be creative — there's no perfect solution.
How do I submit my project?
Submit via the submission form (link announced on event day). Your project must be in a public GitHub repository with a README, source code, and demo link.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. All participants who submit a valid project receive a digital Certificate of Participation. Top teams receive Certificates of Achievement.
